56 Sorry Misty...

Tigger, now past his operation, will not be helping Misty in her quest for little pointy tailed tabby kittens. If it hasn't already happened it ain't gonna happen. She seemed to really want to enlist his help in that project. She certainly has paid a lot of attention to him and he has been interested in her as well, but not enough to help her meet her goal as far as we know.

Roy has observed the activity in the back yard at night through a night scope and has determined that it is highly unlikely that there will be any little tabby kittens, at least that Tigger would be responsible for. It should be safe to

cancel the ‘Little Tabby Kitten Watch' (AKA LTKW) earlier put into effect. If they aren't on the way already then they will not be making an appearance. Her dream dashed by a day at the clinic!

The bully stills considers Tigger a threat but Roy is working on keeping him at a distance. Time will tell if he will be successful. At any rate, it appears that Tigger is staying closer to home these days. Of course the operation was just three days ago but it appears as though he may be satisfied with staying close. He sure likes to be loved and wants to sleep on Roy's lap more now than before the operation. It may be way too early to know what the lasting effect of the operation will be, only time will tell.

Roy has made a nice little bed on top of a fold away bed in one of the spare bedrooms. It is high and comfortable... two things Tigger looks for in a place to nap. With some boxes set up as a stairway for him to gain the heights, he uses it often.

Roy and Tigger have been discussing the continuing problem with the bully. It may be that since Tigger has had his operation the bully will eventually realize that he is no longer a rival in the kitten making arena. That may never happen though and it is only prudent to work on the assumption that he will always be looking for Tigger and trying to keep him from associating with the girls. The girls may eventually lose interest in Tigger which should help get the bully to leave him alone. We can hope. But, hope alone does not keep Tigger safe so other measures are best applied to be on the safe side.

"Tigger, it looks like the bully is even more interested in getting to you now. What did you say to him to make him that way?"

"Say to him? You think I would say anything to him to make him mad at me? Do you think my mom had any really stupid kittens?" he said as he looked at me as though my mom had at least one really stupid son.

"I didn't mean it that way. Of course I know you're not really stupid. I just thought you may have gotten mad at him and said something in the heat of the moment."

"No. I didn't say anything to get him mad... at least that I know of. He just seems to be mad all the time. I don't understand because I've never done anything to him."

"Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you have such a nice place to live and he doesn't. You know where he lives don't you?"

"Of course, he lives next door." he said as he watched the yard just in case the bully would come back for him.

"Yes, he does live next door... but do you know where he has to live next door? He doesn't live in the house like you do."

"He doesn't? If he doesn't live in the house, where does he live?"

"Under the house. That can't be any where near as comfortable as where you live."

"Under the house? Are you sure? Does Misty live under the house as well? She isn't grumpy like the bully."

"I'm afraid so. She hasn't said anything to you about that?"

"No. She's never said anything about her home life. All she ever wants to talk about is little tabby kittens that would look just like me. I don't know what that would have to do with me. But no wonder he's in such a bad mood all the time. I would be too if I had to live under the house. Of course it must be fun to explore under the house. Why don't you let me get under our house? I would love to explore all around in there."

"Well... I don't exactly know. I just don't think it is a good idea. You do have lots of places to explore and a ton of toys to play with. You really don't need to explore under there."

"I guess I would be grumpy if that is where I had to live. But, just the same, I don't see why the bully wants to take it out on me.... after all I don't make him live under the house...."
